Here's how we bring your vision to life in six simple steps.
Duration: 45 minutes - 1 hour
We begin by understanding your style, vision, and budget, shaping the foundation of your design together. From there, we walk you through stone options including natural, Canadian-mined, certified lab-grown, and coloured gemstones. With expert insight into the 4Cs and stone proportions, we guide you through the best shape and size of stone for your design before moving into the sourcing process.
DURATION: 1 - 5 DAYS
Unlike others who pitch what's already in-stock, we source to your specifications. Drawing from our vetted network of worldwide suppliers, we offer conflict‑free natural diamonds, traceable gemstones, IGI‑certified lab‑grown diamonds, custom cut stones, and moissanites.
Following our consultation, we share a curated selection of stones with videos and specs for you to review. Upon your selection, we'll provide a quote tailored to your design and stone, and require a minimum 50% (¹) deposit to begin.
DURATION: 3 - 10 DAYS
Using your selected center stone, we create a photo-realistic CAD rendering for your review. You'll have the opportunity to examine the design from all angles, ask questions, and explore design elements with our guidance until it feels exactly right. Upon your approval, we 3D print the design in a wax model, then cast it in your preferred precious metal of choice: 10k, 14k, or 18k gold in white, yellow, or rose, or platinum.
DURATION: 15 - 20 DAYS
Your bespoke design starts taking shape, as each component is carefully soldered and polished by hand, by our master goldsmith Anna. Once assembled, your piece is placed under a microscope to have accent and center stones handset by Patrick, our master setter. Each stone is examined from all angles, set perfectly straight, and secured with hand shaped talon or round prongs. Your piece is crafted entirely in-house under our care, never subcontracted.
Duration: 3 days
Before leaving our studio, each piece passes a 10-point inspection which examines; prong tension, prong symmetry, mill grain or metalwork uniformity, center stone proportions and placement, stone height consistency, polish evenness, pavé quality, and a final check for surface imperfections.
Your piece is then sent to a third party for appraisal. At this time we discuss final payment and delivery, whether you prefer personal pickup at our studio or world-wide insured shipping (with armored services available on request). But, our relationship does not end at delivery. For lifetime care including cleaning, polishing, and prong checks, you are always welcome to reach out locally.
1 Deposit requirements can vary depending on the project and are non-refundable. Any deposit amount required or accepted by Atelier Dacko Inc., is used to secure the purchase of a loose diamond; and/or used to initiate work on any custom jewelry item commissioned. Deposits are applied in full toward the final purchase price of the item(s) ordered.
